After rather more sweat, blood and tears than I imagined, my book is ready, almost. It is, as I write this, at the printers - and A Prickly Affair will be on the bookshelves from 30th October ... or you can pre-order now from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prickly-Affair-My-Life-Hedgehogs/dp/184614065X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1222195807&sr=8-1
ugghh - that looks horrid ... just search on Amazon for Hugh Warwick ... and you can get a massive discount (I am not sure if that is a good thing or not ... for me that is)
So many thanks are owed to the hundreds of people who contacted me with stories - some of which have made it into the book
Now I just hope you all enjoy it as much as I want you too!

Hi there! I was so pleased I caught you on the Radio 4 Midweek programme this morning . . . I have just ordered your book and can't wait to read it!
I am passionate about hedgehogs, and was just cleaning ours out while listening to the programme!
We currently have 2 pairs of hoglets in (found a few days old with their dead mums) and with help from our wonderful vet-nurse, we have successfully got them through the tricky early stages, they are 5 and 7 weeks old now and doing really well. The younger pair in particular have been fascinating to watch, and have helped increase our love of these wonderful creatures.
We also have an oldie in an outdoor run, he came into the garden with a bad case of Ringworm, he has (and still is) been treated but hasn't fully recovered yet.
All the hogs will be released next spring, when all the conditions are right of course.
There are also 3 or 4 'regulars' in the garden, making good use of the hibernation boxes we have provided.
It is lovely to hear someone talking about our prickly friends with such enthusiasm! Thanks!!
